中標津町 - Nakashibetsu Japan Part 1: Origins

In my quest of learning Japanese I figured the best way to learn, would be to pick a specifc place and learn all about it.
日本語を学ぶにあたって、私は特定の場所を選び、その場所についてすべてを学ぶことが最良の方法だと考えた。
Now I didn't want just any common/well known place like Toyko to study, but I wanted somewhere real where I could see myself actually visiting and getting a real vibe of how people live in Japan. That's when I stumbled upon the wonderful town of Nakashibetsu and my journey begins! 私は、東横のような一般的でよく知られた場所ではなく、自分が実際に訪れて、日本の人々がどのように生活しているのか、実際の雰囲気を感じられるような場所を希望していた。そんな時、中標津という素晴らしい町を偶然見つけ、私の旅が始まった！
To start, I more or less just looked up the different prefectures of Japan and would play around on Google Earth to see if there were any interesting sites. I would plop myself down and eventually made my way to Hokkaido.
手始めに、多かれ少なかれ、日本の各都道府県を調べ、グーグルアースで面白い場所がないか遊んでみた。そして最終的に北海道にたどり着いた。
Then by fate, I stumbled upon this image of 中標津町 (Nakashibetsu) on the Nippon Guide to Japan website and knew I needed to look more into the town!
そして運命的に、このウェブサイトで中標津町（中標津町）の画像を偶然見つけ、この町についてもっと調べる必要があると思った。
This place is just so cool! They have cows, an observatory, an airport and the MILK ROAD to same a few. Stay tuned and I will continue about my journey about the town.
この場所はとてもクールだ！牛がいたり、天文台があったり、空港があったり、ミルクロードがあったり。この町についての私の旅はまだまだ続く。
